I always keep my promises. Kiss/Blank Canvas/Criminal Charges (my first creative writing ever, so try to give me a break)

Agatha was a divorced woman who lived alone. She was a painter, but after
her divorce, she lost the will to paint. She’d look at the blank canvas, trying to have some inspiration, but nothing ever came.

One day, as she was walking in the park, she looked around and saw for the first time, all the beautiful things nature had to offer. She saw the green of the grass and leaves from the trees, she saw butterflies and birds.

As she looked at the birds flying around and singing, she remembered a story her ex-husband had told her.

The story was about a young woman and a bird. The woman was walking in the park, feeling sad and at some point a bird came to her and asked her why she looked so sad. She told him that she felt lonely. She had no friends and no family. The bird felt sorry for the young woman and decided to stay with her and cheer her up. The young woman and the bird became friends that day.

Before leaving, they agreed to see each other in that park every day.

For months they saw each other in the park to talk and have fun together.

One day, the bird was late for their meeting and the young woman got scared. She thought he had left her, just like everyone else. But he didn’t. He showed up.

Still, she was afraid that one day he wouldn’t show up, so she decided to buy a cage and capture him when he showed up at the park again.

And so it happened that he showed up at the park and she captured him and took him home.

The bird was miserable. He trusted the young woman and she betrayed him. He turned bitter towards her. He never talked to her and never played with her again.

One day, the young woman got tired of seeing the bird so sad and she opened the cage and let him go.

He left and never came back. She would go to the park where they had met every day, hoping he would show up, but he never did. She realized that by trying to keep him only to herself, she had lost her best friend.

Remembering this story, Agatha thought about her own relationship with her ex-husband. She remembered all the times she had felt jealous of any woman that came near her husband, she remembered the times when she would fight with her husband, just because he kissed one of his friends on the cheek. Just a little, innocent kiss. Once, she even hit one of his friends, who pressed charges against her. That was when her husband decided to get a divorce.

Thinking about her behaviour, she realized she was just like the woman from the story her ex-husband had told her. She wanted him only to herself and she ended up losing him.

Suddenly, she found her inspiration. She went home and started painting the blank canvas.

When she finished, she stepped back to look at her work.

There, in the canvas, we could see a bird flying free and a young woman smiling happily, watching the bird. She decided to call this painting “I Will Never Forget”.

First creative writing? Give me a break...
...yeah, I believe you, but just because you said it not for the story itself.
So well crafted and with such a morals... That we can apply in our every day life.

What else can I say to prove that I like it?
Well... I do! =D

Kiss* I love your works, 'petite' daisy.

Thank you for the nice comments.
I had never written anything. I don't like writing. I'm more the reading kind of person.
But I do believe that for the first time it wasn't... all bad.

Anyway, thanks again for the comments.
