What the...?

... heck is going on here?

So, picture this: A girl... let's call her... I don't know... Vanessa... FINALLY has gotten free of all those damn exams and FINALLY has time to remember her name.
Vanessa (really have no idea where that name came from) decides to check the blog at 2h28 am (why not? Who needs sleep anyway?). What does she find? A be-a- uuuutiful definition of home, a review from a movie that looks really, really interesting, a new story (about damn time!), an argument (His Majesty... Ah Ah Ah) and... a completely different color. I thought I was daltonic for a second!

Aaaanywayyy... how's life treating you all (even you 'His Majesty- in your dreams')? Did the grades make you all happy?

My grades made me happy, except for one, which was the reason why only today I am free of those exams. I felt I needed a tinny, little "exame de melhoria".

Now, on a subject totally unrelated, two weeks ago I found two guinea pigs close to my grandmother's house. They were obviously abandoned. If it wasn't for the noises they made, I wouldn't have found the box they were in. They were beautiful, but they were dirty and obviously needed food and water (the people that abandoned them didn't even leave them some food and water, so I'm guessing that they really wanted them to die). My grandmother used to have bunnies, so she knew a little bit about how to care for rodents. Unfortunately I found them at night, so I couldn't get the things they needed (like hay, for example). So, I made do with what I had. I gave them carrots (boy did they eat!) and a water bowl (which is not recommended, but what could I do?). I spent all night with them (didn't even study, which was what I was going to do when I went to my grandmother's).
The next day I took them to the vet. I knew that at least one of them was hurt in his paw. There I found out that they were both female. They were both dehydrated and malnourished and they needed a bath really badly (and these animals don't need baths, because they take care of it themselves, so guess how dirty they were). The pig that had a hurt paw had to be given an injection. Poor thing shrieked so much! The vet asked me to hold her down and I was really scared that I'd get bitten. But that didn't happen. After the injection, I picked her up and held her. The sweetest thing happened: she calmed down, relaxed against me and laid her head on my shoulder. I fell in love. I just knew that I would keep these two gals.

Two weeks have gone by. They are happy, they are being treated with love, they always have food and water... I gotta say I'm proud of what I did and of what I'm doing. Those animals didn't deserve what was done to them. Thank God I decided to study at my grandmother's house, or else... I don't even like to think about it.

Oh, according to the vet, the guinea pigs are still very young (about a month and a half, maybe two months now). Their names are Brownie and Whitey (what's more original than that?). So... guess their colors!

I would love to post a picture of them, but I don't have a camera. But I'm thinking about buying one, because I really want to have some pictures of them. Well, I could do what I usually do, which is ask a friend of mine to borrow her camera (it's so much cheaper to use someone else's stuff =P).

So... guess what? Now I also have a chinchilla. Yesterday I went to the pet store to buy a new cage for my guinea pigs (a bigger one) and there it was. A chinchilla. She was abandoned there by her owner, who said that he'd come back in a month and if the chinchilla hadn't been bought by then, he'd take her back, but 4 months later, he still hadn't showed up. When I first saw her, I thought she looked sad and angry (I even told my mom that). When the girl from the pet store told me her story, I understood why she looked so sad and angry. So, I chose the cage for the guinea pigs and after choosing the right one I said "I'll take this cage and that one with the chinchilla inside". The girl was happy and sad at the same time (she was already used to the chinchilla). And the chinchilla? I think she realised that someone was going to take her, because she came out from her little house and started jumping and gluing herself to the bars of the cage, to get some "luuuuve". Now she's here, at home, being given the care that her owner should have given.

God, I'm going pet crazy! I better not come inside any pet stores ever again! =P

Hmmmm, one of my stories... it's actually coming soon. I've had some ideas for a while. For Sonya and Graham, of course. And Joana is going to love it! (now Joana thinks "hmmm, is Sonya gonna leave Graham for a younger man? Muahahahahaha...")

As for me, I dond't have any pets, but I used to have two fishes. They died and I didn't buy others. I'm thinking of buying one or two, but for now it's just a thought :p

I knew it! Thanks!!! :D
I'm sure I'm going to love it too! :p

Better than anyone... anyone you ever met. Right? I know. I am the best. =P

Oh yeah, I do need to stay away from pet stores. And vets, and streets...

I had a fish when I was little. I loved him. My doctor had told me that I couldn't have any pets, because of my asthma (at the time we never would have thought about any other animal than a cat or a dog). I couldn't even have a turtle, because they have a kind of drool that is dangerous for asthmatics. It sucked to hear that! But... I could have a fish. So my mom bought one for me. I took care of him for a year. Then one night, when I was going to give him his food (I always gave him food before going to bed), I saw that my fish was on his side. I knew that meant that he was dying. He was still moving, but he was dying. I spent the night watching him die and crying for him. I just couldn't leave him to die alone (yeah, he probably wouldn't notice if I was there or not, but I would know). After that, I decided not to have any pets (although I still had some hope of getting a dog, asthma be damned).
A few months ago my mom bought two fishes for my little brother. He was very happy and would talk about them everyday. One day, about a month ago, one of the fishes died. Thankfully my brother wasn't there to see it (it's a lot easier when you don't see it), but I was. And although I tried very hard not to care about those fishes, I again stayed with the fish while he died and I again cried for him. This time I was even the one who buried him (I cried while burying him). When I told my mom what happened, she decided to go and buy another one. She ended up buying two. About a week ago, one of them died (Vanessa cried again). Then, the next day, another one died (guess who cried). The day after that, the one that had lived the most, died. I am SURE that there was some problem with the water. Oh, and I cried again.

No one else cried for the fishes (not even my little brother), but I cried a river. But that's ok. I believe that a person or an animal that hasn't hurt anyone and has just lived his life as peacefully as possible deserves a few tears. It doesn't hurt and it's a good way to pay respect.

Call me crazy, I don't care. I'm just human.

Now, I don't even want to imagine what would happen to me if my guinea pigs or my chinchilla were hurt or, God forbid, died. I don't even want to think about that.

Of course Catarina doesn't have any pets. She already has a younger brother.

I won't answer to your provocation, Mr. Almeida. Because that's what you want. But I can assure you that my little brother is everything but a pet. And you should show more respect for the others. Or do you want me to talk about you bother?!

Mr. Almeida? Sir, if you please!...
