Some days ago I was listening to Bryan Adams because he gave an intimate concert here in Lisbon on Friday and one verse of the music “Flying” caught my attention: “If you ever feel lost or feel alone, baby come on home”. I think this is a good definition of home. We feel at home when we feel comfortable, loved and happy.

Usually, when we hear the word “home”, we find ourselves thinking about our houses but “home” for some, is much more than the house where we live. It can be our favourite place, garden, beach, room, museum, city, country, corner or stairs. It can be everything that makes us feel good and complete.

In an article, someone said that answering the question “Where are you from?” is a very difficult task, because the course of his life made him see things from a different cultural perspective: he feels that his home is where he was born, where he had lived, the country where his children were born and many other places.

Personally, I consider home the house where I live, although I’m going to move in two weeks, but I had always lived here since I was born and I consider this house my home. I lived in Leiria for two years and when I go there, I feel an enormous joy, so I guess I can say that Leiria is home too. There are other places, special ones that I can refer like home, too. As I love the sea, Nature, the sun and the moon, I feel that I’m at home when I’m on the sand, with trees behind me, the sun shining over the horizon and the moon appearing on the other side. This landscape is usually seen when I go camping and I always go to beautiful places.

Home for me is everywhere I fell that I am welcome.
